It’s Geek Week at Going on a Bear Hunt.

This is a poster showing some of the metabolic processes going on inside you right now, as well as some of the ones going on inside that pot plant on the window sill. I find the pathways and reactions themselves mind numbingly dull, so I wouldn’t want to have to learn any of this (even the bits I supposedly already have), but all together on a poster like this the complexity of the whole thing is both beautiful and awesome*.

I cut the advertising bit off the bottom because I felt it detracted from the rest of the poster, but it was made by Sigma Aldrich (big chemical co) and you can find the original here.

*in the classical sense.

About Nell

I am a researcher in bionanotechnology currently living and working in Tokyo. I moved out here nearly three years ago, against my better judgement but in search of adventure. It has certainly been an adventure and not one I would have missed for the world. I am trying to retrain as a designer and you may see the odd example of my work appear here as I progress. I also indulge in opinionated rambling.
