The first semester of my course is over and I managed (by the skin of my teeth) to submit enough work of (just about) high enough quality… I think. For reasons too complicated to go into here (and for once not my fault), it was a lot more stressful towards the end than it needed to be!
I had to design a book cover and document all the stages, from research, through development, to the final outcome. In reality, what actually happened was I floundered around in confusion for 2 weeks producing stuff that was, frankly, a bit rubbish and then, at the 11th hour, something in my brain went “click” and I produced what I thought was the final version. I then went back and produced all the “research” retrospectively. That sounds pointless, but actually it was really useful and next time I will understand what I am supposed to be doing and do it the right way round. Finally, while I was writing the essay describing what I had done something else went “click” and an even better final idea popped into my head, so I went back and altered it again. Let’s see if you agree whether the second version is better or not…
Some development images:
Tanya Bidden doesn’t exist, any similarity to persons real or fictional is blah blah blah, names have been changed to protect the guilty &c.
This was the first final version:
This is the final final version:
And this would be the back cover:
