Apple have lifted the restriction on VoIP (voice over internet protocols) in apps from the app store*. Technical jargon blah blah obscure computing term blah blah wireless blah blah leaving the path clear for developers blah.
Bottom line is that a fully functional version of Skype should be available to use on the iPhone in the not too distant future. Or, in other words, I can now call any land line in the UK from my mobile in Japan for free, and you can call me too
Oh and it seems today all bloggers everywhere are required to mention it so: “iPad”.
*OMG app could be short for either application OR apple, I can’t believe I only just got that!
