Entropy and emergent behaviour

I put all my washing into the tumble dryer, and this is what came out*:

It did make carrying it back up the stairs a lot easier.

* and, no, I didn’t put it in the drier like that and, yes, every single last sock and underpant is neatly contained within that bundle.

About Nell

I am a researcher in bionanotechnology currently living and working in Tokyo. I moved out here nearly three years ago, against my better judgement but in search of adventure. It has certainly been an adventure and not one I would have missed for the world. I am trying to retrain as a designer and you may see the odd example of my work appear here as I progress. I also indulge in opinionated rambling.

What’s the thing that is containing everything? It looks like it could be a giant pair of bloomers?!

  2. Nell says:

Now I almost wish is were a pair of bloomers. Sadly, the more mundane truth is that it is a fitted bed sheet. Sorry.
